About

A few years ago I started to think about the day our oldest would go off to college and then four years after that his younger brother.  I was cooking supper at the time. At that moment I decided to send both of them off with a cookbook of recipes. My goal is to give them more than ramen noodles, mac and cheese and microwave burritos to eat. Or if they choose to eat those items I improve on the basic recipe. They also need to learn how to cook for a date. You need more than spaghetti sauce from a jar and a bag of noodles to woo a woman.

The recipes will have to be somewhat easy. They'll certainly have to be use inexpensive ingredients or ingredients you can use in multiple dishes. And they'll have to be cooked using simple kitchen tools such as knives, spoons, spatulas, pots and pans. No $350 dollar specialty pans.

Some of the recipes will be mine or my wife's. Others will be borrowed from various family cookbooks. Many would be from our favorite FoodNetwork TV shows or other cooking websites.

I hope to post recipes and when appropriate share the website and cook I borrowed them from. If there is a link click on the title and it will take you to the original website.

But I need your help. Please give these recipes a try and share what you liked, what you didn’t, cooking suggestions, ingredient variations and more. Send me a favorite recipe of your own and we’ll add it to the list.
